The Mid-Suffolk Light Railway Co. is based at Brockford Station, Wetheringsett, near Stowmarket. It is a volunteer organization with the objectives of preserving documents and other artefacts relating to the Mid-Suffolk Light Railway, which opened in 1904, was absorbed by the London and North Eastern Railway in 1924, passed to British Railways at nationalization in 1948 and was closed in 1952. A short section of line has been reconstructed and surviving MSLR buildings have been located and moved to Brockford to recreate the atmosphere of a light railway of the Edwardian era. The Philatelic Service is just one way in which funds are raised to enable the restoration work to continue, for more details and to join as a volunteer, go to www.mslr.org.uk
